Long-distance move from Alberta to Quebec

Fraudulant company 0/100.

This company agreed to match prices with a company that offered me a transportation of my material (king and queen size bed plus dining table) for 440$ plus gst 22$, including a free wrapping!

I agreed with them because Mark who called me and had me change my mind with the other companies told me that their service is their pride! I agreed to deal with them!

That was the worst decision I could take, because 1st: I booked a month before the moving date which was february 25, 2016 and they waited till the 24th to call and cancel the pick up scheduled for the 25ft!

I called their office and told them about that phone call I have received and they did not even know what happenned! So they fixed it and called me back saying they were sorry and even send me an email appologizing for that matter!
They eneded up doing the pick as scheduled!

On february 10th, 2016, after almost a month of transportation, the company called me and said that they were ready to deliver on the 11th at 8AM, I was exited and all because I was sleeping on the ground with my wife and a 5 months old baby until they added that the bill was 682$ owing!

I was shocked and asked why because that was not the amount we agreed to from begining! Someone called BROCK said that I was being CHaRGED for the WRAPPING of the materials!
Surprised I got really MAD and told them that the amount charge is not right because they AGREED to WRAP for free! unexpectedly the man started telling that they would not bring my materials and had MARK call me!

When MARK CALLED, HE SAID that it WAS NOT HIS BUSINESS BECAUSE HE NOT THERE WHEN THE DRIVER THEY HAVE SENT WAS PACKING!

SHOCKED, I HAVE ASKED: HOW IS IT MY FAULT IF THEIR SUBCONTRACTORS ARE THE ONE WHO WRAPPED THE MATERIAL!

THEY DID NOT SAY ANYTHING AND HANG Up JUST LIKE THAT! Untill today I have not received my beds and dinning tables, AND STILL SLEEPING ON THE GROUND WITH MY WIFE and MY 5 MONTHS OLD BABY!

This company is the worst transportation ever!
Mostly they waited till one day prior to the delivery to tell me that they were charging me for the wrapping, when first of all it was supposed to be free and second of all be waited till the last minute to prevent me and that is just not right at all! Because if you changing a contract closure, the other party is supposed to be informed of the changes made to it! And not wait till one day prior to the delivery to inform people without prevention!!

I have the emails from MARK and RECORDED THEM AGREEING AND DISAGREEING TO OUR AGREEMENT!! also harassing me

(for your additional information, I even told the drivers that I don't want them to wrap it since there was going to be charges!

the drivers stated that there is no problem because they were not going to charge me and that they would charge the company instead + the DRIVER INITIALED THE PAPER HIMSELF, because he added a charge of 2..$ and that they were in a rush for some other pick ups in Calagary, I DECIDED to not sign since MARK did not mention anything about Charges for THE WRAPPING. he stated that there was no problem they only would deal with the company and not me!

Also it has to be clear that I am not working for your company to give any direction at the pick up moment, simply because it is your DUTY as the person who signed the papers and agreement to let them KNOW HOW TO WORK. SPECIALY WHEN THEY ARRIVE AT MY LOCATION, THEY DID NOT EVEN KNOW IF THEY HAD TO SEND IT WRAPPED OR NOT. they asked me if I wanted that and I answered MARK SAID IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE WRAPPED FOR FREE.

and I answered that it's between you guys because what concerns me is that MARK clearly said that the WRAPPING would be FREE!

everything was not stated at the moment of the agreement and now that it is delivery time, you and your company are trying to add charges that are not even mentioned during the 2 weeks to prevent me or ask me if I wanted to pursuit with that or not!

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU GUYS DID AT THE PICK UP MOMENT ONE DAY PRIOR CHANGING THE TIME AND DAYS, which has to be scheduled by me giving a call to your COMPANY, GREEN MOVING STORAGE.

surprisingly you were not even aware of those situations, HOW PROFESSIONAL AND TRUSTWORTHY IS THAT WHEN YOU BOOKED ME ! MONTH AHEAD!

sincerly,).

Another Good Review.

I am very pleased to add a review with regards to my moving experience with Green Moving & Storage Company. Excellent service all around. My first contact was with Mark. He has the perfect customer service approach that gave me confidence that I was dealing with a trustworthy moving company. It worked according to plan. All the furniture and all the boxes arrived the same way it was picked up. I was contact to give me the expected time of arrival. The guys were personable and worked in a professional manner without waisting any time. I recommend Green Moving & Storage for your next move.

Long-distance move from Ontario to New Brunswick

Eager to pickup but get ready for delivery and invoice nightmares.

My daughter contacted GM&S to move her belongings from Ottawa to Fredericton, N.B. GM&S picked up her stuff two weeks prior to planned date of delivery. On the weekend of the expected delivery, my daughter contacted GM&S asked why her stuff was not delivered. They replied that an invoice needed to be paid off first. Such invoice was never emailed in first place)..anyhow, I took over the situation as she was getting the running around treatment. After much cat and mouse emailings, we got an invoice, showing doubled the amount from $640.00 to $1,276.23.

I paid with VISA instead of money transfer (just in case something would go wrong). After 5 weeks, still no delivery nor estimated time and date for delivery. Then I read about the bad reviews and local people who got ripped off and had bad experience with them. I decided to get my daughter's belongings myself then drove to their Scarborough warehouse on Tapscott road, prior to the 6 weeks limited free storage.

I made arrangements with one of the agents, to ensure I would see and talk to someone in authority to obtain her stuff without any troubles. When I got there that morning, I was greeted by a lady who was nervous to know who I was and why I was there..after showing my daughter's papers, she made me stay in a room for a few minutes, then told me to meet the boys at loading dock #1. On my way out, I saw a baseball bat in the corner of that corridor, my buddy and I overheard that the manager was expecting some very unhappy people that morning. ..Glad we missed that. On our way to the loading dock, could not help myself taking photos of the barricaded doors and windows of that warehouse. What a sketchy place this is !! At the loading dock, 4 guys greeted us. Only one of them was speaking English, he's the one who helped getting my daughter's belongings in the truck.

I left with great relief to see that all her stuff was there and nothing was stolen or broken. I was surprised to see that nobody asked me to sign any papers or get some kind of confirmation that the goods were taken out. Once home, I wrote to VISA to get a full refund, which I did. Your best protection is to always pay with a credit card, disputing will go better than to pay for a lawyer or hunt for your refund from shady companies like them.
Word of advise; keep timeline of calls, names and emails. It will help your dispute and resolve your case effectively.

They advertise their business address being on 69 Young street, Toronto. Their location warehouse and operations is in fact located at 380 Tapscott, Scarborough, ON.

Long-distance move from Alberta to British Columbia

Worst Experience Ever - AVOID at All Costs.

Literally the worst customer service experience I have ever been through from just after agreement to finish.

Booked a small ~1,000 lb move from Calgary to Vancouver with Green Moving Storage based on positive reviews received online. After being quoted a reasonable rate of ~$640 for ~1,000 lb move, communication completely fell off a cliff. Within the two weeks leading up to the move date, emails and calls were not returned, and I had to call at 6 PM the night before to get confirmation of what the move time would actually be.

Come move day, we received a call from Mark at 8 AM stating that they can't pick up our stuff. We told him this was unacceptable because our renter was coming that night to do a walkthrough, and he (VERY) rudely threatens to cancel our move and refund our $100 deposit (on the day of the move!). After some painful negotiation, he says that an auxiliary truck will come between 12-5 PM. Of course, no truck shows up and we receive no phone call with any explanation (despite 10-15 calls from me to the company). After me calling them the next morning again, I was told that the next truck wouldn't be available until Friday morning. With no choice but to stick with the shady operations at Green, we had to push our renter back by 2 days and was told we would receive a discount for our inconvenience (which conveniently disappeared later on).

On the day our stuff was supposed to arrive in Vancouver, we received a call stating that our stuff would arrive and the cost was DOUBLE what we were quoted. We only moved small boxes and a mattress and were able to accurately weigh everything ourselves at 1,013 lbs and were quoted a weight of 2,400 lbs! After being rudely told that our stuff was effectively being held hostage and would not be delivered if we didn't accept the charges, we found out that Green had completely offloaded the move to some other fly-by-night moving company who refused to honour our quote. I spoke to a representative who said that I could go to weigh station with the truck..but then 2 hours later was again, very rudely, told that was not an option and we had to pay a higher fee than our quote or they would take our stuff back to Calgary. So in the end, with no choice, we ended up paying 50% more than quoted with our only recourse being to file a complaint with the BBB, which will likely yield no results unfortunately.

Overall, an absolutely terrible experience that borders on being fraud and would avoid at all costs. I would suggest disregarding the other positive reviews - based on our experience I would not trust this company at all. If we could do it over again, we would pay a premium for a stress free experience with a more reputable company.

(Please note that one exception to this experience was Elly - we ended up dealing with her instead of Mark because she was reasonable and not rude like him).

Beware!

This company is the worst to deal with.
Quotes are jacked up once you're billed.
Movers blatantly lie to you about insurances that cost me an extra $350 for packing a TV and Computer. Found out they were not insured at all.
And the boxes go missing! All my electronics, PS3, Multi-region Blu-Ray player, Bose Speaker System, external hard drive, keyboard and mouse to my Mac and one of a kind books etc.. All gone missing. Total value so far $2160.00.+

Where are the boxes? They have no idea!
Have I heard from them? Once, to tell me the time frame I was giving them before I filed a small claims suit was unreasonable.

They broke a lamp, picture frame and tower fan as well.

See you in court Mark Trout!

Long-distance move from Alberta to Ontario

Couldn't care less.

Pickup was to be Friday or Saturday. No show. Called Saturday and was told truck was delayed in BC. Sunday or Monday now. Couldn't reach them Sunday and mailbox was full. Called them at 6 am Monday and told truck was between Red Deer and Calgary but no idea if we were next. "that's up to the driver ". Call them back at noon and informed the truck was full and headed back east. " it happens". At no point did anyone try to contact us and let us know. When we asked "so now what happens" they said "maybe next week".
Obviously we cancelled and when asked about getting our refund on the deposit back they said next week some time.
So now because of these inept and totally unprofessional boobs we are left scrambling to try and find another company to do our cross country move. We are now days behind in our move thanks to these hacks.
Avoid like the plague. Don't get suckered in by their low quotes. Do your research and you will see tons of horror stories about these bums. I didn't and paid the price.

Fraudsters.

This guys are fraudsters. Please be aware of them. I had hired them and I got a quote from them for 1000 and 2000 lbs. They provided me $640 and 800 something respectively. My actual weight was 1350 lbs and they sent me and invoice for $1200. They charged for the warehouse fee and lot of other charges which was not provided when they gave me an estimate neither they mentioned that anywhere in the email. Did not respond to my emails nor was picking up the phone call. Do not do business with this guys.

Long-distance move from Ottawa, ON to Surrey, BC

Ottawa to BC.

I booked my move with Kelly to Surrey, BC back in the beginning of May from Ottawa. Kelly was very helpful and was able to provide me with all information that I needed.

I just got my things delivered a couple days ago and I can say I was very satisfied with the movers. I had a lot of fragile items that I was nervous about shipping because of their sentimental value (mainly china from my grandmother and a china cabinet) and everything was delivered to me as it had been picked up.

I had six weeks of free storage which was helpful so I could coordinate with my closing date. Thanks for the great work.

Long-distance move from Calgary, AB to Kitchener, ON

If I could give negative stars I would..

This company is honestly the most frustrating, unorganized, clueless group of people I have ever experienced. It all seemed well and good until they showed up two hours late for pick up. That was frustrating, but not the end of the world. When they picked up my stuff in Calgary, they promised it would be delivered to Kitchener in 7 - 10 business days. After multiple calls and false promises about when it would get delivered, 20 BUSINESS days later (4 weeks) my stuff was delivered.

For the day of delivery, they said between 10 am and 3 pm but probably around 11am it would be there. I waited and waited and waited. Called the office multiple times and they said the truck was in Kitchener but they were unloading a 4000lb delivery before mine. I called the office around 430 because they close at 5 and Brock gave me the cell phone number of the driver and advised me to give him a call and hurry them up because "they were probably just wasting time" because they get paid by the hour. Forgive me, but should that not be Brock's job to hurry his movers up? Finally, after multiple unanswered phone calls and texts from me to the driver, they showed up at 5pm (two hours after the delivery window).

Apparently, in the fine print on the contract, it states that the office will call you a few days beforehand with the total so you can get payment straightened out. No one called me beforehand, so when the drivers arrived, they would not unload until I paid. They wanted me to pay by credit card, but luckily for me, I did see the spot on the contract where it states that you pay an extra percentage for credit cards, so I asked to do an etransfer. They had to call the office to get that straightened out and then when they finally were able to give me the bill amount, it was DOUBLE what I was quoted. At that point, I just wanted my stuff, so I figured I would just pay and then deal with the office later (big mistake).

Once billing was straightened out, they started unloading my stuff. They broke my mirror, damaged my TV stand, lost the rails for my bed and there was coffee spilled all over my end tables. Not to mention that my TV was MISSING. The driver was actually very nice and helpful about the missing TV, and I called the office the next day and my TV was delivered a few days later.

I called the office in order to get a receipt that wasn't hand written so I could see the breakdown of the charges. The girl that answered the phone was EXTREMELY rude and unhelpful. I asked to speak to accounting but she refused to put me through, she said she would take my information and they would call me back. I never heard back of course so the next day I called and demanded to be put through. I waited on hold for 45 minutes before someone answered. They were able to send me a real receipt but unable to provide me with the scale print out - it was "probably" on the truck. I asked her to follow up on it and try to find it, but didn't hear back. I have sent her at least 20 emails and called her at least as many times since then, but I still haven't heard back.

This company is a bunch of crooks and I tell anyone who will listen to NEVER DEAL WITH GREEN MOVING & STORAGE!! It's not worth your time. The quote seems enticing, but if I could go back I would go with a company with a more expensive quote & a better reputation because it would have likely worked out to be cheaper in the long run; it at least would have saved me this headache!! .
